Tuesday 28 November, Sydney: With the first week of the annual Black Friday Sale over, Amazon Australia has shared insights into what the nation were adding to their virtual shopping carts as an additional six days are still to come in a longest-ever sale event for the retailer.

Amazon.com.au launched the fourteen-day sale on Monday 20 November, and it will run all the way to 11:59 pm AEDT on Sunday 3 December, with deals on products from every category available including big brands, everyday essentials and a range of Small Australian Businesses.

Subscribe & Save offers eligible customers 10% off scheduled deliveries on more than 10,000 eligible items, and Prime members receive 15% off baby essentials, on select nappies, baby wipes and baby food.

General Manager at Amazon Australia, Matthew Benham said, “This year we’re offering 14 whole days of Black Friday deals all the way through to Sunday 3 December in response to what we’re hearing from our customers.

“Over the years some of our top deals have been on big ticket items from the likes of Samsung, LEGO, Apple, and Bose, but it isn’t just these big-name brands that have been popular, we’ve also seen everyday essentials are being purchased, so items such as cleaning products, dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent and nappies. With the cost of living putting pressure on many customers, Black Friday is increasingly seen as a way to make their dollar go further across the board. From the get go on Monday, customers were snapping up deals, demonstrating an appetite to shop early and save. Popular items we’ve seen customers grab early include home appliances like ECOVAC robot vacuum cleaners, toys for the little ones ahead of Christmas and even products you may not immediately think of when it comes to Black Friday purchases like Vitasoy Oat Milk and Chupa Chups.

“Australians are smart, savvy people, and we know from our recently commissioned research they’re taking advantage of sale events, like Prime Day, Prime Big Deal Days and Black Friday, to help them with the strain on their budgets. Extending our Black Friday Sale to 14 days allows customers to do their research, and ensure their purchases are the best price and suitable for their needs”
