With Christmas just around the corner, Prime Big Deal Days arrives at the perfect time for Aussies as new research by YouGov, commissioned by Amazon Australia, reveals that Australians anticipate spending $2,200 dollars on average across the festive season. The data shows the holiday period also hits the weekly budget hard, with 48% of Australians spending an extra $100 or more on their weekly essentials shopping, in the lead up to Christmas.

Prime Big Deal Days discounts are available across all categories, from home and electronics to beauty and even everyday essentials, meaning Prime members can tick off their gifts and stock up on some of the household items that often increase in volume when hosting guests or travelling to celebrations for the festive season.

Arno Lenior, Director of Amazon Prime, APAC said, “We’re so excited to bring back Amazon Prime Big Deal Days and this time, it’s even longer, giving Prime members more opportunities to save ahead of the holiday season.”

“We know that Aussies are looking for value and Prime Big Deal Days is a great time to save – not only on those big-ticket items but also on everyday essentials where costs can unexpectedly creep up. Our research shows that some shoppers forget to include everyday essentials in the Christmas budgeting, with one in three Australians saying they don’t account for an additional spend in their weekly shop over the Christmas period. Prime Big Deal Days is an opportunity for savvy shoppers to get ahead and start ticking items off Christmas wish lists nice and early, as well as all that comes with a house full of visitors or travelling to celebrate with loved ones.”
