SYDNEY – 18th July, 2018 – Prime members in Australia joined members in 16 other countries celebrating Prime Day, Amazon’s exclusive shopping event for Prime members. Prime Day had record numbers of customers visiting amazon.com.au, leading to 16th and 17th July being the biggest two days of sales for Amazon Australia since opening its Retail and Marketplace offering in December 2017. 

During Amazon Prime Day 2018’s event, Australian customers purchased a broad range of products with the most popular including a range of Amazon devices, including the Amazon Echo Dot, Amazon Echo Plus, Kindle Paperwhite, Fire TV Stick Basic Edition, alongside PS4 Pro 1TB Console with Bonus Fortnite Content, FIFA 18 PS4, Philips Hue lightbulbs, Huggies nappies, and Finish Dishwasher tablets.

  • 16th and 17th July 2018 were the biggest two days for Amazon Australia since launching its Retail and Marketplace offering with more items ordered than ever before
  • The best-selling Amazon device was the Echo Dot
  • The Nintendo Switch lightning deal was so popular that Amazon ran the deal a second time
  • The top selling brands in Fashion included Tommy Hilfiger, Lorna Jane, Calvin Klein and Julius Marlow
  • Parents had a great day, making Huggies nappies one of the most popular items purchased. Parents also enjoyed savings on products such as the Maxi Cosi Convertible Car Seat and a range of Tommee Tippee items

One of the many successful Australian small businesses taking part in Amazon Australia’s first ever Prime Day was Checkered Choice, with a number of deals across Kitchenware.
