Thursday 23 July, 2026: Prime members in Newcastle and the Lower Hunter Region including Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, and Cessnock can now order from over a million products as late as 11am for delivery before 10pm that same day, giving them the ability to get what they need delivered to their door in just hours.
Alongside this, Amazon Australia is also growing its fresh grocery partnership with family-owned grocer Harris Farm Markets, bringing same-day and next-day delivery of Harris Farm's seasonal fruit and veg, quality meats, and specialty produce to eligible Newcastle customers for the first time via Amazon.com.au.
Faster than ever Same-Day delivery service now available
A huge selection of products across categories including everyday essentials, small appliances and electronics, home and kitchen, beauty, books, toys, clothes, shoes and more are now eligible for Same-Day Delivery. To find items eligible for Prime Free Same-Day Delivery, Prime members can look for items marked with Prime delivery 'Today by 10pm’ or the ‘Prime Free Same-Day’ badge on product detail pages on the Amazon App or website.

The same-day delivery service from Amazon comes as new research from YouGov commissioned by Amazon revealed over 3 in 5 (62 per cent) of Newcastle residents wait three business days or more on average for online purchases to arrive and over three quarters (76 per cent) rank free and/or fast delivery as the most important factor when making an online purchase.
Prime Free Same-Day Delivery is available on eligible orders over $49 for Prime members in eligible postcodes across Newcastle and the Lower Hunter. Prime members outside of Same-Day or One-Day eligible locations can still benefit from free delivery in as fast as two days on eligible orders.
Same-Day Delivery also benefits selling partners by getting their products into the hands of customers faster. Since joining amazon.com.au, Newcastle small business Javson Sports has been able to grow their online sales of their combat sports gear to a broader pool of Australians. Fresh from Harris Farm Markets, now delivered to Newcastle doors
Newcastle customers can now shop thousands of Harris Farm products on Amazon.com.au with same-day and next-day delivery. The service launches in select postcodes from Hexham to the North, Eleebana to the South, Newcastle East to the East and Stockrington to the West. Orders are fulfilled from Harris Farm's Cooks Hill store, with Amazon Flex delivery partners providing last-mile delivery using specialised insulated and chilled packaging to maintain product freshness and quality.
Prime members will receive free shipping on Harris Farm orders of $100 and over, and non-Prime members will receive free shipping on orders over $200. Customers pay only for their groceries and applicable delivery fees - no service or bag fees. Customers can schedule their delivery for a 2-hour window and choose unattended delivery options for additional convenience. Harris Farm Markets on Amazon orders have a minimum order value of $50.

All figures, unless otherwise stated, are from YouGov Plc. Total sample size was 1154 adults. Fieldwork was undertaken between 14th - 20th July 2026. The survey was carried out online. The figures have been weighted and are representative of all Australian adults (aged 18+).
